Hi everyone, it's been a while. It seems two blog posts a month is becoming a pattern, as much as I want to update here more frequent than that. Even so, it's alright, I'm taking my time. By tomorrow, it'll be my site's 7th month and I swear I've had this 'little corner of the internet' longer than that. It has gone through a lot of layout changes, and it's definitely not as empty as before.
Anyway, as you can see in the title, I want to start a blog series of some sort. I remember when I was planning for my website 7 months ago, I want it to be reminiscent of a youtube channel as a form of archive/media log. I love watching vlogs of other people but as much as I want to set-up my own channel, I personally know verbally talking to a camera is not it for me. Besides, all that editing, cutting clips, voiceovers and such were too much work for me. I know I want a blog of my own but popular platforms is very commercialized. But thankfully, not long after, I discovered the smallweb and it's actually so great that it's very accessible even to beginners like me. One of my biggest inspirations is Megan Rhiannon and her series Attic Archives where she documents small snippets in her daily life. Based on my past record, I'm definitely not good at maintaining an updated blog or some sort of weekly posts lol but hey, this is me trying anyway.
And so, my very own personal otaku log is born. Besides the aforementioned youtuber, I was also inspired by the random (but very much welcome) oshikatsu and otaku logs that shows up in my feed. My 'manifesto' (I use this term in this case very very loosely) for this site has always been to keep a record of all things I love. I'm cringe and I'm free This is an exciting project for me to try, so we'll see how it goes! But before that, I just want to document some small site updates I made over the month.
short site update
New blog layout once again! I know in my previous post I talked about migrating my previous posts to Bear Blog. I did try the platform; I really like the concept behind it and as much as I want to because of how intuitive the process is, I decided against migrating my blog to a different site. In the end, I still want to keep everything in one place, here in my personal website. So I wrestled with 11ty again (I say this lovingly, I'm so amazed how much stuff you can do with it) and finally got this layout that you see right now! It's heavily inspired by Bear Blog's but I actually picked up the theme from my very old 2017 abandoned livejournal. It was one of my first blogs that I maintained during my college days but I had to leave the site because it's... well, you know it... enshittified. 7 years had passed and I'm still very pleased with my theme there so it's no brainer that I take inspiration from it. At least when hosted here, it's very flexible to make it the way exactly I want it to be. I have more plans in emulating the livejournal vibe but that's something to put in my to-do list.
genshin impact: xilonen came home!
Now onto the otaku log itself heh After my who-knows-how-many-months long break from the game, I reinstalled Genshin in both my PC and iPad. Comeback stage real?! After watching Xilonen's character demo (god i'm so in love with her actually) I was determined to farm my long-untapped primogems reserves, and by reserves I mean, the ones I'll get from exploration. I've been here since Wriothesley's release and I'll do it once again whooo I got a bit of whiplash with all the QoL updates that I only recently come to discover. What do you mean when you use the Treasure Compass, the treasure will be marked in the minimap now?! (boomer voice) Back in my day we had to search the whole area only for the chest to be tucked in a small unnoticeable cavern- anyway, this is a very welcome change.
I did the 5.0 Natlan archon quest and it was good! I certainly see where they're going at but of course they only explained the conflict going on in the nation here. What I'll say is: I love Mavuika! I love her determination throughout the AQ and man... she's so cool...... that fight with Capitano... so cool..... It's also funny when she was like 'surely the other archons were more welcoming than me' and Lumine was like 'uh.. not really.' I like that we finally started on good terms with the Archon cuz ABOUT TIME LOL Natlan's conflict is pretty much it's never ending war with the Abyss. The story's pace was good, it was the right amount of exposition especially considering we're at a completely new nation with no prior knowledge about it. The concept behind being a nation of war was simple but clear and it didn't feel like they had to spell it out to the player. ALSO another big surprise for me was:

Thank you Mualani for the food :bless: I finished the AQ within the day and even with my goldfish attention span, it kept me immersed throughout the story so that's a good thing! I still haven't done the 5.1 continuation but idk I want to finish exploring Natlan and its reputation quests first. I say that but I'm procrastinating as always.
Since I just returned from my break, I got the returner event and wow I'm surprised I get 10 limited wishes from doing it. In to the Xilonen funds you go! I act like I'm guaranteed but not really... My latest wish was Clorinde so I had to start from scratch and it's not even guaranteed I win the 50/50 lmfaoo First I explored a bit of Chenyu Vale. Like... it's fun, but there's so much flying that it slightly triggers my motion sickness lol
I also started building Clorinde and it brings me so much joy hearing her as Yui Ishikawa. Stelle is basically in Genshin... a win is a win. I would farm her artifacts, get her ascension mats while exploring across Teyvat. I also spedran the two ongoing events in Natlan while making one wish everytime I hit 160 primogems lmao The cycle continues until...
BEYONCE?!
She came home! I finally won the 50/50 what the fuckk thank you Beyonce TwT Exploration has never been more easy. It's so fun rollerskating on mountains LOL Her animations are so fluid too! I'm really happy she's home ;w; I've always been a hoarder in games but for some reason, I used up 20 fragile resins in one go out of the 90 I have so I can farm for both Clorinde and Xilonen's mats and artifacts at the same time. Call it a joint slay between two queens.
1600 resin later, I got them both to 80/90! (I forgot to screenshot Xilonen's character screen oops) Another big QoL change for me was the collection feature oh god (queue war flashbacks of collecting 160 detection bugs for Wriothesley) It's so much easier this time to farm for mats this time so you have more time to mald over shitty artifact substat rolls. Yay!
Again I'm a hoarder and for some reason I have 520+ purple EXP books lmao so I also leveled Raiden to 90, I had her at 80/90 for forever but she's so useful to me in Abyss runs so she deserves it.
Two things about me when I play games is 1) I hoard and 2) I procrastinate. I came across this video where they pretty much 100% the exploration part as a pure f2p player and it was so satisfying to watch. I know it's ambitious but lmao I kinda wanna do the same. I already have Mondstadt and Sumeru forest 100% so... it wouldn't be that bad... right... haha. I also watched another video of them building Chiori and this is actually what prompted me to finally make this 'series'!
And four years later, I finally got the entire Mondstadt (except Dragonspine) to 100% exploration. HAHA Also... I finally maxed out Venti's statue of the seven. Uhm... 1.0 player btw...
Also got this achievement which took me four years as well... ehe!
I got max reputation in Inazuma too! lolll What a productive day.
As part of my spring cleaning of my quests tab, I told myself I'll complete one story quest a day (if possible). I recently just finished part two of Zhongli's story quest and yes I went so long without unlocking Azdaha LOLL and found out the story quests weren't really long as I expected. Definitely doable per day. Zhongli still remains as one of my favorite characters and godd the way he views his 'erosion' still hits different for me.

Today I finished Kokomi's and I'm upset people have been saying negative things about her story quest when it's actually so good :(( We got an insight about her charater and her conflict between being a military leader for Watatsumi and wanting to be just a girl. I love that we got depth about her and gdjkshgd that energy level notebook was so cute!! She just like me fr. She's also one of my favorites and I really enjoyed her story quest!
As of writing, I still have yet to do Nahida's birthday party and I can't wait to get back to Sumeru and its lovable cast :") Maybe in my next entry I'll already have finished it and I can write my thoughts about it!
honkai star rail: my first AS 12-star clear
I was a bit busy with Genshin that I've been just doing dailies in HSR and pre-farming Sunday's mats lol I also have yet to do the new TB quest but I've heard it's pretty silly lolol and I'm not surprised at all.

Instead of doing the trailblaze quest, I immediately went to Madam Herta and played the new SU update and as always, she cooked. It's sooooo fun. It was a bit confusing at first but two complete runs later I'm already doing dumb shit with silly lineups. One thing that I suggest to improve is... give Basic ATK characters some love... my dh!IL and Bladie standing on the corner like. Overall, it's a banger and I love Madam Herta.

Aside from me and my shenanigans in SU, I finally got my first 12-star clear in AS! I can't believe it!! I've never been a metaslave but I do try to build my beloved characters properly and I'm surprised I did it! Besides my Boothill break team, I'm also so happy my FU team of Feixiao, Moze, March Hunt and Aventurine has perfect synergy with each other ;w; Building Feixiao and Moze at the same time hurt my wallet but it wasn't so bad cuz they pretty much have the same mats and relics. Yay tb power efficient!

My MoC fell one star short though but I think it's just skill issue for me lmfao I'll definitely give it another shot with better relics and eidolons for March. It's so funny tho cuz Aventurine is Hoolay's darkest nightmare LOL This IPC guy is literally his direct counter. Everyday I'm so happy I got him and his sig LC mwehehe Meanwhile the first half is Himeko's playground. You get super break damage, everyone gets super break damage!
